The article discusses the individual typological features of students' memory in terms of learning foreign languages. Based on the analysis of scientific literature, an attempt was made to show that the features of memory and ways to optimize its functioning have a significant impact on the process of mastering a foreign language; An effective way to work with memory, requiring only the development of an instrumental skill (similar to learning typing, for example) is mnemonics.
