A Comparative Study of the Poetry of Yahya Kemal and Cholpon

Abstract

It is well known that in the literature of the peoples of the East there are common styles that repeat, inspire, excite and inspire each other. In particular, the influence of modern Turkish literature on the penetration of the Jadid movement into the Uzbek literature of the twentieth century. Artists striving for innovation have enjoyed the work of Turkish poets and writers. In Uzbek literature, new examples of modern genres appear in the early twentieth century, and in Turkish literature began to appear in the mid-nineteenth century. During the reform period of the Jadid movement, Uzbek-Turkish writers and intellectuals got to know each other better, especially through the press.

This article examines the methodological commonalities of modern Turkish and Uzbek poetry of the early twentieth century, in particular, the great and brilliant representatives of the twentieth century, poets Yahyo Kamol Beyatli and Abdulhamid Sulaymon oglu Cholpon, whose poems shake the human heart. Similar themes, artistic imagery, and lyrical expressions in the works of both poets have been explored. The works of Abdulhamid Suleyman oglu Cholpon and Yahyo Kamol Beyatli, the bright "stars" of modern Uzbek and Turkish poetry, are compared in terms of image and expression. In particular, Cholpon's poems, "Autumn", "The First Letter", Yahya Kamal's poems "Autumn", "An old letter” were compared. There are also examples of poetic translations of Yahya Kamal's poems into Uzbek. Also, Cholpon's poems, which are full of beautiful words, have not escaped the attention of Turkish literary critics and translators. His poems have also been translated into Turkish and researched. The article also provides information about this. The purpose of this article is to show the harmony, the issue of influence, intellectual and ideological closeness in the style of Uzbek and Turkish poets who lived and worked for a century.
